Duchess Ambulatory Care Unit
The Duchess Ambulatory Care Unit (ACU), located on the 6th floor of our state-of-the art facility, is a purpose-built outpatient unit offering specialised care for patients who require treatments or minor procedures without the need for an overnight stay. Designed to provide comfort, privacy, and clinical excellence, the ACU is open daily from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM, delivering patient-centred care in a welcoming environment.
Treatments and Procedures Available at the Ambulatory Care Unit
The Ambulatory Care Unit provides a wide range of services designed to ensure efficiency and convenience for our patients while maintaining the highest standards of medical care.Â
The unit caters to medically stable patients needing focused care for short-term treatments such as:
- Intravenous (IV) infusion therapy
- Chemotherapy Administration
- Hydration Therapy

Additionally, the ACU is equipped to handle a variety of minor general surgical procedures, including:
- Skin Biopsies: Punch, shave, or excisional biopsies for small growths.Â
- Wound Care: Minimal wound debridement and laceration repair (stitches or suturing)
- Minor Surgeries: Mole or skin lesion removal, toenail removal for ingrown nails and circumcision)
- Fluid and Foreign Body Management: Joint aspiration, aspiration of hematomas or seromas, and removal of foreign bodies.
- Injections and Implants: Corticosteroid injections for joint pain, intralesional keloid injections, subcutaneous implant insertion or removal, and trigger point injections.Â
- Tube and Catheter Care: Feeding tube removal/replacement and catheter changes (urethral or suprapubic).
- Image-Guided Procedures: Core biopsies, fine-needle aspiration cytology (FNAC), and paracentesis.Â
