Brief Summary of the Grand Round:
Cancer cases are on the rise globally, highlighting the importance of increased awareness, early recognition, accurate diagnosis and timely treatment. Head and neck cancers can present in different ways, and their early symptoms may be overlooked or mistaken for less serious conditions, potentially resulting in delayed diagnosis and treatment.
This Grand Round will explore the common types of head and neck cancers, their aetiology, clinical presentation, diagnostic approaches and available treatment options, including surgical and non-surgical modalities. Emphasis will be placed on the importance of early diagnosis, the implications of late presentation and preventive strategies to reduce the burden of these cancers.
