DrEbun Bamgboye is Consultant Physician/Nephrologist, St. Nicholas Hospital, Lagos, Nigeria. He is the head of the Dialysis and Kidney Transplant Unit at St. Nicholas Hospital and the clinical director of the hospital.
Dr. Bamgboye graduated from the University of Ilorin in 1984 and following a period of postgraduate training at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH), was awarded Fellowship of the West African College of Physicians (FWACP). In 1994, he was appointed Consultant Physician/ Nephrologists and Head of Dialysis Unit at Gbagada General Hospital, Lagos where he worked for 4 years prior to taking up his current role at St. Nicholas Hospital.
Since his appointment in 1998, he has developed the St. Nicholas Dialysis Unit into one of Nigeria’s most prestigious and functional Kidney Dialysis centres, which receives referrals from around the world and has since inception performed well over 115 renal transplants.
Dr Bamgboye has published extensively in a wide variety of peer-reviewed journals and contributed book chapters to reputable texts in his chosen specialty. Among such notable publications is ‘A Ten-year Review of Chronic Renal Failure at Lagos University Teaching Hospital’ (1992). He is currently the president of Nigerian Association of Nephrologists and member of the Africa regional subcommittee of the International Society of Nephrology (ISN), Commission for the Global Advancement of Nephrology (COMGAN) initiative.
Dr Bamgboye also sits on the Advisory Board of St. Nicholas Hospital, where he currently serves as Clinical Director.
