DESCRIPTION:Brief Summary of the Grand Round:Cancer cases are on the rise g
 lobally\, highlighting the importance of increased awareness\, early recogn
 ition\, accurate diagnosis and timely treatment. Head and neck cancers can 
 present in different ways\, and their early symptoms may be overlooked or m
 istaken for less serious conditions\, potentially resulting in delayed diag
 nosis and treatment.This Grand Round will explore the common types of head 
 and neck cancers\, their aetiology\, clinical presentation\, diagnostic app
 roaches and available treatment options\, including surgical and non-surgic
 al modalities. Emphasis will be placed on the importance of early diagnosis
 \, the implications of late presentation and preventive strategies to reduc
 e the burden of these cancers.Where This Course Fits In:This course is inte
 nded to improve healthcare professionals’ understanding of head and neck 
 cancers\, with particular emphasis on recognising early warning signs\, ide
 ntifying risk factors and ensuring timely referral for appropriate investig
 ation and management. It will also highlight the consequences of delayed di
 agnosis and the role of multidisciplinary care in improving patient outcome
